Three Simple Things from Pope Francis

Pope Francis 1“Let us maintain a positive outlook on reality…. I would like to speak of three simple attitudes: hopefulness, openness to being surprised by God, and living in joy.”

— Pope Francis

This man is truly built on joy.

He believes in good and is helping make our world a better place. What an example not just for the Catholic faith, but for all religious leaders across the world. Be a force for good.

And he goes on to say:

“How many difficulties are present in the life of every individual, among our people, in our communities; yet as great as these may seem, God never allows us to be overwhelmed by them….Always know in your heart that God is by your side; he never abandons you! Let us never lose hope! Let us never allow it to die in our hearts! The “dragon,” evil, is present in our history but it does not have the upper hand. The one with the upper hand is God, and God is our hope!”

You cannot be overwhelmed or overtaken by any ‘bad’ event. No, God, Love, and Its Power rule over all. Take on Pope Francis’ enthusiasm and live with Hope!

Pope Francis (born Jorge Mario Bergoglio) is the reigning pope of the Catholic Church.  Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he was ordained a Catholic priest in 1969 and from 1973 to 1979 was Argentina’s Provincial Superior of the Society of Jesus. He became the Archbishop of Buenos Aires in 1998 and was created a cardinal in 2001 by Pope John Paul II.  Following the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI, a papal conclave elected Bergoglio as his successor in 2013. He chose Francis as his papal name in honor of Saint Francis of Assisi. Francis is the first Jesuit pope, the first from the Americas, the first from the Southern Hemisphere and the first non-European pope since the Syrian Gregory III in 741, 1,272 years earlier. Throughout his public life, both as an individual and as a religious leader, Pope Francis has been noted for his humility, his concern for the poor and his commitment to dialogue as a way to build bridges between people of all backgrounds, beliefs and faiths.
